Mobile Horse Doc Welcomes Dr. Logan, Residency-Trained in Equine Reproduction!
She is the most experienced equine reproduction veterinarian in Northeast Oklahoma. Dr. Logan was born in Sturgis, South Dakota, and grew up in Hooker, Oklahoma. She attended undergraduate school at Oklahoma State University, and graduated from the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After graduation, she did an internship with a reproductive specialist in Virginia.
In 2004, she moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado where she completed a residency at Colorado State University in Equine Reproduction and was awarded a Master of Science in Clinical Sciences. She moved to Australia in 2007 and spent 4 seasons as a thoroughbred stud veterinarian over several years. Upon leaving Australia, she moved to South Dakota and worked at a mixed animal practice, where she focused on equine reproduction and small animal general practice for 10 years. She moved to Oklahoma in the fall of 2020 to continue her career in a warmer climate and has since started traveling, filling in for fellow veterinarians who need time off!
She moved back to South Dakota in the fall of 2022 and continues to provide relief work for both equine and small animal practices all over the country. She has 2 cats, Rowdy and Olivia, and raises reined cow and ranch horses. She loves diving and visiting tropical locations in her free time. Dr. Logan will be working with Mobile Horse Doc doing a lot of reproduction work as well as general practice. We are very excited to have her here at Mobile Horse Doc!
Welcome To Mobile Horse Doc
Mobile Horse Doc is proud to serve Tulsa, OK and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of equine veterinary medicine along with friendly, compassionate service.
We believe in treating every patient as if they were our own horse, and giving them the same loving attention and care. We are a group of highly trained, experienced animal lovers who are devoted to giving our patients the best care possible.
If you want to ask a question about our services, please feel free to give us a call at (918) 549-0333.
We have 3 licensed veterinary technicians on staff (Debbie, Tori, and Ashley) who can provide doctor-directed care, bandage changes, and vaccinations. Our veterinary technicians have each completed a two-year accredited program at Tulsa Community College and then passed national and state board certification tests to achieve their licenses. They are then required to complete annual continuing education to maintain their Oklahoma license in good standing.
Our telemedicine service has been in soft roll-out for about a year. Here’s how it works. One of our doctors MUST HAVE SEEN YOUR HORSE WITHIN THE LAST CALENDAR YEAR to be eligible for this service (NO EXCEPTIONS). This is to address issues that may or may not be serious enough for an in-person visit, questions about certain conditions, or to provide urgent care or triage type appointments when the doctor is unable to get to your location right away. All telemedicine is directly overseen by one of our veterinarians. We deploy a licensed veterinary technician to gather information (vitals, pictures of wounds, laboratory samples). Information is relayed to the doctor in charge and the doctor makes a diagnosis and directs treatment or prescribes medication. Medication and/or treatments are then carried out by the technician at your location. If the problem is deemed more severe than what can be managed by telemedicine, a doctor will deploy to finish addressing the problem as soon as possible and you will not be charged an additional exam fee.
Examples of telemedicine appointments:
- Clean, care and bandage of wounds
- Acute, severe lameness from hoof abscess
- Colic assessment and triage (if mild, doctor can direct care to resolve in the field, if severe and requires transport to emergency center, technician can stabilize for transport under doctor’s direction)
- Eye injuries or pain
- Skin irritation, hives, hair loss
- Laboratory testing (bloodwork, cushing’s testing)
- Cough, fever, nasal drainage
- Euthanasia
Problems that CANNOT be telemedicine:
- Coggins Testing
- Health Certificate
- Prepurchase Exam
- Extensive lameness exam
- Reproduction exam
- Severe laceration repair (though a telemedicine exam can address the clean and bandage for triage until doctor is available to treat in-person and/or repair)
- Castrations
- Dentals
How do you best make sure you can be seen readily should problems arise? Make sure to stay current with an annual exam. One of our veterinarians does an annual exam with your annual vaccines to immediately qualify you for this service. Keep your horse current on vaccines with us and you will be ready to receive care when you need it most!
